This policy explains how S.L. River Co Pty Ltd (ABN 73 663 038 186), trading as Cabanamate ("we", "us"), collects, uses and discloses personal information through www.cabanamate.com.au. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What "personal information" means

Information or an opinion about an identified or reasonably identifiable person, whether true or not.

What we collect

Details you give us: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, order details, and messages you send us.

Payment details are handled by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay). We do not see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, and how you arrived at the site, using cookies and similar technologies.

Reviews and photos you choose to submit.

How we collect it

Directly from you when you order, subscribe, contact us or leave a review, and automatically as you browse. Our website is hosted and powered by Shopify, which also processes this information.

Why we collect and use it

To process and deliver your order, provide customer service, handle returns, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, improve our website and products, and (with your consent or where permitted) send you marketing.

Marketing and advertising

We may email you about new products and offers if you have subscribed or purchased from us. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to opt out at any time. We use advertising and analytics tools including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (Analytics, Ads and Merchant Center). These use cookies and pixels to measure how people use our website, and to show you our ads on other sites based on your activity on ours. You can control this through your browser's cookie settings, your Google ad settings, and your Meta ad preferences.

Who we share it with

Service providers who help us run the business: Shopify (hosting, checkout, payments), payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay), couriers and shipping software, email and review providers, and analytics and advertising providers (Google and Meta). We only share what they need to do their job. We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

Many of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada, Ireland and Singapore. By using our website you consent to this. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers handle your information appropriately.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for our business or the law (for example, tax records are kept for 5 years).

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you (Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13) by emailing info@cabanamate.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you have a complaint, contact us first. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Children

Our website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
